My Job Involves?
My job involves me making sure that Y sort it Workers have access to useful information that they can use to help support young people.  I also work with loads & loads of Y sort it’s partners to help them distribute information about services or activities for young people. Or if they need to research anything to do with youth issues – I am here to give them a helping hand!!!

I manage the group work side of things, including running both Young Carers groups, Young Mums to be. I also do some outreach on the bus including the Romany Group at the Travelers Site.

Worker		 My Job Involves?
My main role is one to one support work with the youth of today, may it be housing, homelessness, benefits, school, college, or employment, either way it keeps me on my toes as every day can be very different, other area’s of my job involve working at the drop in’s giving support, advice & helping young people with any issues they may face.  I also give support to the young mothers 2 be group, involving tax credits, healthy start vouchers or any other queries they have.

Going out to various areas with the Y Sort-It bus and doing outreach in various areas. Visiting each high school once a month with the bus. Taking the bus to community days, fun days etc. Finally I make sure any repairs to the bus are carried out.

I work in the drop in sessions and the various awards Y Sort-It give out and i also help to run the faifley youth cafe. I can generally be found helping out with all the fun stuff going on in Y Sort-It.

Working with the Fusion LGBT Group Every 2nd & 4th Tuesday from 6.30 to 8.30pm at Y Sort-It Base, the Young Carers Every 1st & 3rd Tuesday at the Y Sort-It base from 6.30 to 8.30pm Base and helping to run the Virtual Drop In between 6 and 9pm at the Y Sort-It base on a Wednesday night.

Maintaining the various websites of Y Sort-It. I mostly now deal with this site your currently on but I also help keep the West Dunbartonshire section of Young Scot updated, the Y Sort-It bebo page and the Y Sort-It facebook page updated too. I also help Y Sort-It in creating other websites such as the Wrecked site for West Dunbartonshire and several other ongoing projects.

Working on the various flyers, posters and helping Alan with the Web site imagery. I work closely with all the groups as they are always needing new advertising and publicity material to make the groups better and increase their presence in the community.

I work at Virtual Drop In on  a Wednesday night which runs from 6-8.30pm. I work on the bus on a Thursday night which at the moment is in the Bonhill area but changes, this is 6-9pm
I also work at the Friday night Drop In every few weeks which runs from 6-8.30pm
