To manage and develop the engagement of young people in Y sort it network of provisions and the wider youth strategy initiatives. I support the staff to maximise the quality and number of contacts with young people and ensure that services delivered are responding to the needs of young people of West Dunbartonshire

My Job Involves?
My job involves me making sure that Y sort it Workers have access to useful information that they can use to help support young people.  I also work with loads & loads of Y sort it’s partners to help them distribute information about services or activities for young people. Or if they need to research anything to do with youth issues – I am here to give them a helping hand!!!

My Job Involves?
Going out to various areas with the Y Sorti-it bus and doing outreach in various areas. Visiting each high school once a month with the bus. Taking the bus to community days, fun days etc. Finally I make sure any repairs to the bus are carried out.

My Job Involves?
My main role is one to one support work with the youth of today, may it be housing, homelessness, benefits, school, college, or employment, either way it keeps me on my toes as every day can be very different, other area’s of my job involve working at the drop in’s giving support, advice & helping young people with any issues they may face.  I also give support to the young mothers 2 be group, involving tax credits, healthy start vouchers or any other queries they have.

Maintaining the various websites of Y Sort-It. I mostly now deal with this site your currently on but I also help keep the West Dunbartonshire section of Young Scot updated and also the Y Sort-It bebo site too. I also help Y Sort-It in creating other websites such as the upcoming Wrecked site for West Dunbartonshire.

Working at the Wednesday night drop in and the Thursday night Health drop in. Getting to know the young people wo attend the nights and having informal chats about important issues via workshops and most of all just having fun.
