Applying

Applying for a job can be SCARY!! Do they want you to write a letter, send in a CV, Do you have to wait for an application form to be sent out to your house, or Do you have to phone in or even complete an application form on line? It can be complicated, but all of these processes usually need the same information and once you have done one they get easier.

Job Applications Forms

When applying for some jobs you will have to complete a job application form. This is the first stage in the process and it’s really important that you fill it in as best as you can, and answer all sections fully. Remember the employer will get loads of application forms and they will only select the ones which have all the correct requirements for the job.

It is also important to be as neat and tidy when completing the form because if the employer finds it hard to read they might not bother trying! Then you definitely won’t get the job, even if you would have been perfect for it! Remember most employee’s are looking for the same things, someone who is a good time keeper and reliable, someone who is enthusiastic and willing to learn and someone who will work hard!

It is always a good idea to give some examples of each if you can. Like, “I have an excellent time keeping and attendance record at school.”

Tips for filling it in

1. Make a photocopy of the form to practise on first
2. read it through fully before beginning
3. take your time
4. use a black pen and always write in capital letters
5. be as neat as possible
6. Remember never lie
